Riley Blanks played competitive tennis for 15 years; beginning in Nicosia, Cyprus with Marinos Baghdatis as her first coach. She received coaching from elite programs; spending most of her teenage years with Rick Macci in Florida where she was ranked top ten in her age group. She competed in ITF tournaments and was awarded a wildcard to the Boyd Tinsley Women’s Classic in Charlottesville, Virginia at the age of 15. She was ranked top ten in Florida juniors and received press after her successful run at the Copper Bowl in The New York Times and OWL Magazine. Riley went on to compete at the collegiate level for the University of Virginia. She has since coached Nike Camps at UVA and Lipscomb University as well as junior programs at Oberlin College. She was the assistant coach for varsity tennis at Harpeth Hall, an all girls prep school in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a certified PTR Professional.
Riley has a unique perspective of the world, having lived in 15 cities, nine states and six countries. She comes from a long line of professional athletes and grew up around world class athletes such as Tony Parker and Lebron James. Her dad, one of her best friends and biggest mentors, is a basketball analyst for ESPN and Longhorn Network.
Riley moved to Austin in 2016; however, she is not unfamiliar with the city (her parents met at UT). She is a portrait photographer, storyteller and model though, in her heart, tennis remains most familiar. She is recently engaged to her partner of nine years, Jack; they live with their two dogs, Walter and Willow.
