Make-Up Match Info

Question? How do i reschedule a make-up match from a WTTA, USTA or ATL League that was rained out?
Answer: Please follow the steps below to expedite your request.

Step 1. Please assign 1 player from each line to email [email protected]. Please “cc” as many players as you can that are involved in the match and the captain of the team.

Step 2. In the “subject” of the email please include the following information. The appropriate league  “WTTA or USTA or ATL” + “Make-up Match” + “team name” + “line #” + “singles or “doubles”

Examples of what to include in the subject bar of your email for Step 2:

WTTA Make-Up Match Aussies Line 2 Doubles
ATL Make-Up Match Southside Bangers Line 2 Singles

Step 3. In the “body” please reference the original match and request the new date(s) and start time(s) you would like to inquire about. We will do an audit of the requested days and times then reply with a conformation or suggest an alternate day. Reply’s may take up to 24 hours.

When available WTTA and USTA makeups will be given 2.5 hours from the start time you requested,  30 minutes to warm up + 2 hours for your match. (If you request a 9am start time we will assume you want 9am-1130am. If you request a 930am start time we assume you want 930-12pm. We cannot offer 2.5 hours of time on week nights. Singles matched may be offered less time. ATL matches are given 2 hours.

Hey Iosua
I need to make up a rained out match from Friday Sept 23rd’s W3.0 USTA match. We would like to start our warmup at 9am and our match at 930am on Monday Oct 3rd or Tuesday Oct 12th. Please let me know if those days work.

General League Info

Although we host a large number of USTA, AWTA/WTTA, and ATL matches, Rippner Tennis does not organize or manage the rosters of our approved home teams. We do allow captains to request the use of South Austin Tennis Center as their home courts. The individual captains are responsible for their team management.

Question: How do I join a team?
Answer: There are several ways to get involved in League Play in Austin. Attending our clinics, playing in USTA Tournaments, or getting involved in other local organized tennis activities is a great way to social network and meet area players and captains. Often word of mouth and simply asking players you meet is a great way to get the inside track to a team invitation. You can also contact local organizations and ask if they have a list of Captains looking to fill rosters spots or a if they have “New Player” form. The captains that use SATC will also often put up fliers in our Pro Shop when they are looking to fill rosters. You can contact Sylvia if you need more assistance.  A list of local organizations with links in blue are provided below.

Area Leagues

WTTA (Womens Team Tennis Association)
The WTTA organizes competitive league play for local “clubs” for a variety of levels on weekday mornings around the Austin area.

AWTA (Austin Womens Tennis Association)
The AWTA functions as a citywide “club” for women who aren’t members of a private country club but want to organize a new team or join an existing team to compete in the above mentioned Women’s Team Tennis of Austin (WTTA) weekday leagues. AWTA has an “events” page with upcoming opportunities to get involved.

CATA (Capital Area Tennis Association)
